Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a biological science with at least 2 years of experience as patents searcher or equivalent experience.
A team- and customer-oriented focus with meticulous attention to detail required. Must possess expertise in managing information, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication and knowledge management skills. Facility with searching patent information and DNA/Amino acid sequences required. Experience with searching STN, Dialog, Questel Orbit, Micropatent and other database systems and a detailed knowledge of the relevant patent and technical databases is highly recommended. A solid foundation in IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications also required.
Preferred Qualifications: An additional degree in Information Science or some knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Details: Conduct patent and literature searches and provide clear concise evaluated reports of such searches for review by attorneys.Assist in Due Diligence projects, such as in-licensing opportunities, by providing searches and evaluated reports. Work with transnational colleagues to ensure appropriate prioritization and completion of work, and provide additional informational services to attorneys as required.
